The window restoration team at Kirby Perkins Newport is your solution for any repair or renewal needs. Our team of craftsmen has decades of experience in the repair, rehabilitation, preservation, and restoration of any window component. We are uniquely qualified to assess your particular situation and provide the proper resolution. During assessment, the team will thoroughly investigate the entire window system to determine overall operational, structural, aesthetic and weather resistant capabilities of each window, as well as a look at overall moisture issues present in the structure.
The operational assessment looks at the original design of the window, how it operates, the balance or pivot positions, and any changes or modifications that were made. Original and/or updated weather-stripping is noted. In almost all cases, operation of the window can be restored to the original design and function with proper rehabilitation.
We specialize in the application of specialized coatings for many architectural elements. Structural steel, custom steel fabrications and decorative metalwork can be coated with a variety of both clear and opaque finishes, including single and multi part epoxy, urethanes and lacquers. Masonry and stone substrates can be coated with lime wash, true milk paint and toned clear coatings. We have extensive experience with single and 2-part coating systems for any wood product, and provide ultra-durable finishing systems for many restaurant bars and dining tables. We have a decorative artist on staff that can mimic or blend together just about any color or surface to hide or accent surface grills, speakers or lighting devices. Our 5,000 square foot paint facility features 2 spray booths and has the cabability to handle just about any residential, commercial, or industrial coating needs.
The Kirby Perkins finishing team has been restoring fine furniture and antiques for over a decade. Our methodologies include chemical staining, dye staining, pigment staining, padded shellac, and any solvent or water based finish. All these finishes are done with meticulous attention to detail. We can repair or replicate almost any artistic element or carving.
