HISTORIC RESTORATION

HISTORIC RESTORATION : ISAAC BELL HOUSE

The Isaac Bell House is one of the best surviving examples of early shingle style architecture in the country. Designed by McKim Mead and White and built in 1883, it is now owned by the Preservation Society of Newport County. Extensive historical restoration and preservation was completed by Kirby Perkins in 2000/2001. The work was awarded the Victorian Society of America Preservation Award, and the property is registered as a national historic landmark.
